Tanjin Carbon has published its annual Sustainability Report for 2024, providing a transparent overview of our environmental performance, responsible sourcing practices, and community engagement efforts over the past year. The report is now available for download on our website.
Environmental Performance
In 2024, we achieved a 15% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions per ton of activated carbon produced compared to our 2022 baseline. This progress was driven by investments in energy-efficient kiln technology, waste heat recovery systems, and a transition to renewable energy sources for a portion of our electricity needs. Water consumption in our manufacturing processes was reduced by 12% through improved recycling and closed-loop cooling systems.
Responsible Sourcing
We strengthened our responsible sourcing program by completing audits of all major raw material suppliers. Our coconut shell carbon products are sourced exclusively from certified sustainable plantations, and we have established traceability systems that allow us to track raw materials from origin to finished product. We also increased our use of recycled and reactivated carbon, diverting over 2,000 metric tons of spent carbon from landfill.
Community and People
Tanjin Carbon contributed to local education programs, sponsoring scholarships for 25 students pursuing degrees in environmental science and engineering. We also maintained our strong workplace safety record, with zero lost-time incidents recorded across all facilities during the reporting period.
