Standard activated carbon relies on physical adsorption. Impregnated carbon adds a chemical reaction mechanism — the impregnant reacts with specific target contaminants, providing much higher removal capacity for those compounds than physical adsorption alone.
KOH-impregnated carbon is the most common choice for H₂S removal. For higher capacity, we also offer NaOH or specialty alkaline-impregnated grades. Our engineers can recommend the best option based on your gas composition and operating conditions.
